Racing Series to Watch

The family of motorsports is enormous, and there are a lot of competitions worth watching. Every motorization lover will find something for themselves. But even if you're not passionate about cars or motorbikes, you'll still find many motorsports quite exciting.

There are some competitions, though, that are more famous than others. Does it mean that they're better? Well, it depends on what you're looking for. Still, if you're looking for a high level of intensity and excitement, these three racing series never disappoint.

Formula 1

Formula One is considered the Queen of Motorsports. Since its inauguration in the 1950s, F1 has been at the top of international racing forms, with millions of loyal fans watching it live every year - 471 million TV viewers in 2019.

Formula One season consists of a series called the Grand Prix, in which ten teams and 20 drivers (two drivers per team) participate in 21 races worldwide. Drivers fight for the World Championship, whereas teams for the Constructor Championship.

The GP traditionally starts mid-March and ends early December. For a couple of years, the host of the inauguration racing weekend has been Melbourne, Australia. The F1 weekend consists of three free practices, qualifications, and a race itself, with fans treating each weekend like a separate holiday.

Most circuits have been in the calendar for a while, but there have been some changes along the way. Because of that, every race is unique and intense.

NASCAR

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR in short, is the American company famous for its popular stock car races. Popular is actually an understatement, as the NASCAR series is the most renowned motorsport in the USA.

Every year, NASCAR organizes over 1,500 races at over 100 tracks in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. The three main series are:

  • Sprint Cup Series

  • Nationwide Series

  • Camping World Truck

Each series involves different cars and drivers, and you can be sure that you won't find motorsport as intense as NASCAR. If you're looking for a dose of adrenaline, these races are worth live streaming.

MotoGP

Grand Prix motorcycle racing (MotoGP) is the most renowned motorbike road racing series in the world. To put things simply, it's the Formula One of motorcycle racing. MotoGP bikes' interesting fact is that they're built specifically for the sport, and driving them on the regular road is illegal.

The MotoGP World Championships consists of 18 races taking place in 14 countries. It features 24 drivers who battle against each other for the title. What makes MotoGP unique is the danger involved in every race.

Unlike Formula One or other car racing series, drivers aren't surrounded by safe technology in MotoGP. Of course, there are specific safety measures involved. Still, when compared to other sports, driving a 1000cc four-stroke motorcycle, bike to bike, and leg to leg, does sound terrifying.
