Napoli vs Benevento – Serie A Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 24 encounter, with Napoli taking on Benevento on Sunday the 28th of February, 2021, at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

On February 13, Napoli celebrated one of their biggest wins of the season, if not THE biggest, a 1-0 over Juventus at home, in Serie A. In three games since then though, they failed, miserably. First, they lost 2-0 in Granada, last weekend they lost 4-2 in Bergamo to Atalanta, and on Thursday they saw their campaign in the Europa League come to an early end, despite beating Granada 2-1 at home. That was just not good enough, after their 2-0 defeat in Spain, in the first leg. Their current form reads; WLLWL. They are on 40 points from 22 matches (they have one in hand, against Juventus, in Turin), 7th in the table. They have 13W, 1D and 8L, having lost three of their last five Serie A matches. Goals, 47 scored, 25 conceded. It’s… extraordinary how they have scored more goals than AC Milan, conceded less goals than them, but still, Milan are 2nd, still hoping to win the Serie A title, while Napoli are 7th, fighting for a top-4 spot. Coach Gennaro Gattuso played a 4-2-3-1 formation against Atalanta last weekend, with Osimhen up front. Zieliński scored for them. Their other goal was scored by Atalanta’s Gosens, it was an own-goal.

Benevento hosted Roma last weekend, lost a man to a second yellow card in the 57th minute, but despite having to play 10 vs 11 for more than 35 minutes (added time included), they did an awesome job protecting their goal. The game ended in a goalless draw, a real… accomplishment for Benevento, given whom they had opposite them. Their current form reads; DDDLD. They are on 25 points from 23 matches, 15th in the table (at least before Saturday’s games). They have 6W, 7D and 10L, having four draws and one defeat in their last five matches. Goals, 25 scored, 42 conceded. Coach Pippo Inzaghi played a 4-3-2-1 formation against Roma, with Lapadula up front. It was Pole Glik who got sent-off early in the second half.

In the reverse fixture, back in October, Napoli won 1-2 as guests.

A 2-0 victory for the hosts is predicted at full-time.

Date: Sunday, 28th of February, 2021.

Venue: Stadio Diego Armando Maradona

Kick-off time: 18:00 (GMT+2).
